Hi

Everyday I'm receiving lots of junk emails and it's consuming my time filtering and deleting many spam messages in a day. How can I possibly stop spam messages?

Thanks

I think we cannot stop spam but we can reduce it. there some ways to be able to reduce spam. you can limit the places where you place your email. Also use junk email filter. You can download some free junk email filter online like mailwasher and spambutcher.

Hi

Yes, I agree we cannot stop spam. All we can do is reduce it. One way of reducing spam emails is to make sure you don't place your personal email to your websites because automated systems 'trawl' websites looking for email addresses, adding them to lists without your permission. You can also use email program with integrated with spam filtering like Outlook.

Hello everyone

I guess using a disposable email address for registering online will ensure that your Real email address does not end up in the hands of data mining services or spammers.

The web is full of junk and we need to be smart online. Learn how to identify what are scams and what are not.

Spam is one of the most insidious side effects of the Internet revolution and has only gotten worse over time. If you are sick of dealing with unsolicited junk mail clogging your email account.

Like one of you suggested, I use disposable email addresses for all my online activity and subscriptions; separate accounts depending on what I use them for. I then have my email forwarded to my main account so I can keep track of everything.

Examples. For any subscriptions relevant to my work, I have an email account setup for them, for marketing, another, etc. If I notice unwanted spam coming through, I can either attempt to stop it at the disposable, or simply stop forwarding, but being careful to manually check my accounts for important information.

Identifying spam. I know who the important people are contacting me. If I don't notice an incoming email, I delete. I notice a lot of garbage coming in for Craigslist postings and 9 out of 10 they are all the same. Anything unsolicited, for that matter, is deleted. In this case, spammers know that repetition (and many forms of it) get you to curiously open the message(s) and go to the links inside, either by clicking the link or entering them manually. Internet Psychology.

Important tip. Do not use auto responders. Auto responders automatically send out a generic email from your account for you right back to the spammers and scammers. Legit recipients know you got their message when you manually respond to them. Besides, manual response shows that you are a real person who cares about the request more so than an autoresponder.

It helps.

Best of luck to site source 101. I'll be watching and participating as much as possible.
