Your Money Channels

I talk to a lot of people who are in Internet marketing and most all of them, even people who've been doing it for years don't know their money channels. If you are serious about Internet marketing and want to know where your money is coming from so you can make more money, you need to know your channels.

What is a channel? Its any avenue a customer has from their normal happy world to your bank account. Its Google Adwords, MSN AdCenter, press releases, social marketing (videos, article distributions etc) and all of your websites, products and services. Every product and service you have has more than one keyword or key phrase that makes a lot of money.

A keyword is just something people would type in to find a product or service on a search engine. If you rank #1 for "pain relief" and you're selling 2 products a day or less, then pain relief is clearly not a high converting phrase. Why? Because people don't just have 'pain' they have "lower back pain" or "shoulder pain" and they aren't looking to learn more about their pain, they want to "relieve shoulder pain" or find a "lower back pain product.

By finding the exact keywords that make the you money, you can target those much better. If your main source of traffic is through YouTube videos, you should probably make related videos, and the links from those videos should go to pages on your site that have more of the same content they already enjoyed.

Make a spreadsheet of all the websites you have, make another of all the products and/or services you have and then make line by line all the channels that bring you traffic, and what converts. Under every product or service include all the keywords associated with it that make you money. By having this laid out, you can make a check list for what you need to do to attract more of the same visitors that convert well. When you're ready, read about all the conversion elements.
