How To: Make The Most Money

OK, so we've capitalized on what we're good at, we've evaluated our channels, our elements, but how do we make the MOST money? It depends on what field you're in, and it starts with you. You have to decide that you want it. OK, so you want it. What do you do?

As it relates to conversion, the name of the game is "test". If you aren't testing online, you are not growing online. If you are wondering what to test, its simple. Everything! The point here is not to drive you crazy, but to test the different elements of your website to see what works and what doesn't, and if it DOES work, make it work better. Getting people to your site has to be a priority at the beginning, but if don't have something that converts them, there's no point in driving traffic there. But you have to have some traffic in order to see if your tests are working.

What software do you use when testing? Well, we have the best, and the cheapest options, but you have to join SiteSource101 for that. One cool service I'll let you in on is called www.crazyegg.com. It's cool because it actually shows you a heat map of where people are on your page, where the interest is, and where they click. It's also free! Set it up, let it get data for a couple days and it will show you results. If something is not getting clicked on, or acted on, test trying to delete it. Now if people aren't clicking on your headline you're not going to delete it, but if people NEVER click on your 'more info' or 'privacy' links, you can probably get rid of them.

Replace dead space with something that converts. You need, and every graphic designer will tell you, you want "whitespace" on your site. Whitespace is just clean, open space for nothing. It lets people's eyes be focused on what matters instead of what doesn't. Whitespace doesn't have to be white by the way. Test the areas that weren't getting attention with new ideas, maybe a special offer, a free e-book if you buy now, anything to capture attention OR if you already have enough things vying for attention, whitespace.
